CC vs. CLS
The comparison is inevitable. Both cars share the same lines. Both have luxurious interiors. Both scream I'm expensive. I thought it would be nice to see for myself both cars side by side. A friend who works at Mercedes just happened to drop by. "The car for the people" never resonated this loud.

The CC offers so much for the money and the V6 4 Motion pictured here is four-wheel drive as opposed to the rear wheel drive Mercedes. The engines are very different since the top of the line CLS comes with a V8 with 507 hp @ 6800 rpm and 465 ft-lbs. of torque @ 5200 rpm compared to 280 hp @ 6200 rpm and 265 ft-lbs. @ 2750 rpm for the CC. All the extra wood trim in the Benz, it has to all be about the symbolism. I'd much rather spend the $56,500 net difference on something else... a small château comes to mind. The CC also offers free maintenance for 3 yr/36,000 miles. I hear the Mercedes maintenance bills are no fun. And for those who think the people who can afford these expensive cars don't care, they do. I hear from them every once in a while when they come shopping for a German alternative that makes more sense.

That $56,00 in price difference has more buying power every day. By the time the country has been completely Obamanized, that small Chateau expectation may change to a large chateau. The reality is that the comparison of the CC to the CLS, while interesting, ends with the four seats and the sloping roof line. The CC is a lot of car for the money and the only time I hear an argument to the contrary is when the VW badge is thrown into the mix. If this car had the Audi name on it, people would be raving about it in a different tone and saying what a screaming bargain it was. Funny, that.
